Support of weird file types
« on: August 12, 2006, 08:09:30 am »

Two video file types I've never managed to get working in MC are *.3gp files (Quicktime files) and *.rmvb files (real media video files). These files play fine using quicktime and real alternative respectively.

I have no trouble playing *.rm video files in MC with real alternative installed.

Is this just a matter of somehow getting MC to use the quicktime/real engines for these files? At the moment I have to set them as Data media type and MC opens the external player to play them.

Certainly not a burning issue... but I like to tell people that MC is still "the one that plays them all" :)

Side note ~ I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned in the past, but animated GIFs open as regular images, but aren't animated.

3gp, 3g2, and rmvb are added to MC's media types.
