Again with the catching up on development progress... Back in March, Yaobing & the gang enabled us to read tags from m4a files if you were using DirectShow filters.

However, has there been any progress on writing tags back to the files? Again, yada yada, great library, want to write appropriate tags...hate iTunes...etc., etc.

I'd love to "Update Tags (from Library)" and just let everything crunch away overnight....

I'd like to voice my support for this. And for better streaming support of m4a files using library server.

This would definitely be great, but I think the general response was that this would be a lot of work to implement, and that we shouldn't hold our breath...

I would already be grateful for a way to export library fields to an external program. (currently this only seems to be possible with the 'filename' field, I now use this method to send an entire folder to mp3tag, tag from there and then update library from tags in MC).
It would be easier to select several songs in MC, right-click them and send the most common parameters (album, artist, track nr, ...) to a tagger which can then write the tags...

Again, I'm sure we'd all be grateful for any improvements in tagging m4a files. With so many iPods out there, excellent interopability with them would be a selling point. It would sure help people who have already invested time working in iTunes consider a switch to the much more capable MC!
