Can I leave MC running on a computer at home so I can then login (Hamachi) and stream music to my laptop from any internet area?  My concern is that I want to leave MC running on an older computer I have but if I modify my database (ratings, play counts, add files, etc.) I don't want them to be lost because a copy is running 24/7.  I don't want to have to login to that computer every day to start or stop MC depending on if I'll be at home that day.

Would party mode make it so it doesn't overwrite changes on other computers and then to "update" the server MC, I would have to close it and re-open to force it to re-examine the database?
