Library Server: problems with converting audio
« on: October 28, 2006, 05:03:58 pm »

When playing audio in my MC client connected to my Library server (both version 11.1.200), it works fine when audio is not converted at all. It also works fine when using the OGG encoder. However, MP3 encoding does not work at all. None of the options works for me. I get a dialog box saying something like "Please make sure the path in your media library points to the right location". Unfortunately, I see no others in this forum reporting something similar.

However, I would like to use the OGG encoder, but my problem is that when playing a file, it encodes the whole file immediately, and hence uses all the CPU there is in the start of the playing period. I would rather have the CPU load distributed over the whole playing period, but have not found any OGG commands that can help me with this. However, I suspect that LAME does, so that's why I'm so keen on trying that as encoder for the Library.

Yes.  And mp3, flac and ogg. It fails no matter what the file type is.

We have a fix coming out for something similar. I'm not sure if it will help in your case, but it might. Give it a try and if it still doesn't work, post here.

Thanks,

I have the same problem with the latest beta.

I'm trying the library server functions for the first time. My files are in .flac and .ape on the server and I want to convert them to vbr .mp3 for the remote client.

MC is connecting to the server and downloading cover art and all, but as soon as I try to play one, i get this:

"Please make sure the path in your media library points to the right location"

Any idea?

EDIT: I'm using Beta 12. Guess this is not the right place for this comment.
