iSCSI and locking issues....
« on: September 27, 2006, 09:27:16 am »

Are there any plans afoot to implement some kind of dB locking mechanism so that protocols like iSCSI an be used to share out a lerge cache of music without running into data corruption issues with the indexes and playlists?

The reason I'm asking is that the 2-3 open-source NAS software packages are all implementing iSCSI in their recent releases.  It seems to me that sharing out storage via iSCSI is a great deal more efficient than a uPnP server as long as the locking issues can be dealth with.
