recording source
« on: September 26, 2006, 07:09:00 pm »

I just recently obtained media center. In regards to recording lp's to my computer I'm using the line-in, however when I go to recording source to enter line-in I'm only given one option-
'mixer'. According to the help menu I should be able to enter line-in or microphone etc etc. What's up??

Just a guess here that you need to use Mixer and then specify in your computer's Audio options, the recording source you want to use. To get there, go to the Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume tab, click the Advanced button for Device Volume. BTW, if you have the volume control icon in the system tray, it's a lot easier to just double-click that to get to the same screen.

In Volume Control, select Options - Properties, click the Recording radio button and then OK. On the Recording Control dialog, select the Line In as your source.  Hope that works.
