Something I Have Been Working On For 3 Months (Off And On).

These Are images Of A Plug-In DataMaster Running Under It's First Time Batch Run, That Will Allow You To Find Data For Your Blank Fields. It Uploads Your Data Under Your Handle, And Allows You To View Other Users Data For That Song.

I Am Thinking About Allowing You To Select Friends, So If You Do Not Have Data It Will Check Your Friends List First, If Data Is Avail From Them Then The Plug-In Will Download From Them First. If Not It Will Select A User To Download Data From.

You Can Also Use The Program To BackUp Your Field Data (Lyrics, Notes, Comments Etc...) It Only Needs 3 Fields "Artist", Album, And "Name" Filled In For It To Recover All other Fields.

A User Can Look Thru The Remote Data Manually And Add Friends To the Friends List. This Would be Someone You Trust In Having Better Data (Like Lyrics, Notes, Comments Etc..) The Program Will Look For Data To Fill Your Blank Fields From Your Friends List First, if no Friends Are Found For That Media File (Song) It Will Then Select The First User In The List If there Is Data In The Remote Folder.

Note The User-ID, This Is A MD5 Key Of The Entered Data (UserName, E-mail Address, And Password) This Way The Server\Program Will Allow More Than 1 user With The Name "Joe Blow" For Instance. This Data Is Not Sent To Me Or Anyone Else, So You Can Really Put anything In There You Want, But It Would Be Best To Use Something You Will Remember.

Note: Does Not Handle The Cover Art Images, When Parsing The Field List the Plug-In Does Not Include This In The Listing.

Note The Option Controls It is Best Not To Mix Fields Ie. You Should Not Mix Track # And Bios, Bios Should Be Set To Option One(1) (Artist) Where Track # Should Be Set To Option Four(4) (ArtistAlbumName)

This makes it really nice.  Thank you King.  I have a view that tells me what of my songs do not have lyrics.  I send that to play. Batch from you.  All the successful ones no longer show up.  I send the other to play.  Use Lyric Editor to search net.  Then when finished I batch to you.

Uploading. Slowly though because I want to make sure that data I upload doesn't contain any errors. I'm Uploading Bios, Genre, Year, Lyrics, Composer and some Notes which includes info about the cd release.

actually i think it is because it is the first file in the list you were looking at, and it is not updated.

0.0.20 Introduces Auto Select that will select the proper place to save the data, and also fixes a problem the plug-in would not download data then it should have in a batch.

"Auto Select". If this option is selected it will save the data depending on the plug-in fixed information.

The user can always select "\Artist\", "\Artist\Album\", "\Artist\Name\", "\Artist\Album\Name\" and over ride the plug-in

Do any of the DataMaster beta users use Norton Firewall?  If so, I would appreciate any tips on how to configure it to work with the plug-in.

Currently when I have Norton enabled, it processes the tracks, but does not upload or download anything.  So I disable Norton and turn on my Windows Firewall instead.  It would be easier to just leave Norton enabled.

The more we upload, the better DataMaster will work for all of us.

The problem is, most people will upload once, then only download data for missing information.  This is because they do not want to reprocess everything just to get the new information uploaded.  And they do not know what changes they made.

So, I made a simple Smartlist.  This one is for all of the things changed in the past week.

Please make a Smartlist like this (or an improved one) and use it to upload your recent changes.  Of course, this is after you do the initial upload.

fact: there is about 100 new lyrics uploaded each day with lyrics finder.

I at some point will pull the plug on lyrics finder in favor of DataMaster so once it gets going it should be about the same.

About Norton firewall, it is so intrusive checking every dang connection and port (even if it was valid) I had to un-install it.

The free Microsoft firewall works fine.

You have the option of doing it anyway you want.  You can manage the Upload To and Download From Locations in the Settings tab.

This Is True, You Can Always Select "Lyrics" And The Option "\Artist\Album\Name\" This Will Override Any Auto Select Settings.

Really Quite Forward

Put Files In Playing Now
Select Field "Notes"
Press "Start Batch" Or "Next".

Everyone Must Understand The Data On the Server Is User Submited. If you have any let the program upload them to the server. This Way Other Can Benifet From your Data. If there is any on there it will grab them for you.

Data Other Than Lyrics Is A Bit Sparce So There May Not Be Data On Some Fields Like "Album Notes".

Lyrics For The Most Part Would be The Same From One Album To The Next Unless It Was A Remix Of Some Sort. So If You Uploaded  Lyrics To "\Artist\Album\Name\" Users With The Same Song And Not The Same Album Could Not Get The Lyrics. So The Default Is "\Artist\Name\"

Allowing A User To Set This Allows A User Some Flexibility In What They Wish To Share And Where to Share It.

Since The Plug-In Allows A User To Create There Own Fields (Maybe For Band, Album, A Song, A Song That Was Played Live A New York, Chicago, Etc..) Allows You To As A User Within your Database To Make Notes Within MC.

Notes Field: (Defined Data About This Song off Of This Album, On this Day, etc...)

I keep getting a message popping up every couple of seconds about not having any files in Playing Now.

I set the plugin to "Off" mode, but it still happens when I'm just in the plugin trying to change settings. It's a little annoying. I would think telling me once if I tried to run a batch with an empty Playing Now would be enough.

I'm brand new to your plugin.  How do I use it?  I have close to 10K songs with perfect Name, Artist, Album, and Year information plus at least something reasonable for Genre.  I'm not sure what I should do but what I'd like is to download all the lyrics for my collection but I looked at a few lyrics and they didn't look formatted too well.  Perhaps I should download them and fix them then submit them?  How do I do this?  I can't go through 10K songs by hand.  I think each person should--once I understand the procedure better--take about 100 songs and do those perfectly.  Do some research and make your data truly useful.

Click On Help, Go To the Website And Read The Help File.

I Would Hope You Should Not Need Too Much Help Since The Buttons And The Help File Provides Most If Not All the Information You Should Need.

I'm not sure if you are starting with any lyrics yourself.  If you have some, they can be uploaded and shared.  For the ones you are missing (maybe everything), I suggest the following process:

1) Make sure you set up Data Master using the Auto Select option.  This uses the logical default location for Uploading & Downloading of Artist\Name.  You are going to get the most hits based on this setting.
2) Under Field Data, make sure you select Lyrics
3) Put everything into Playing now and kick off a batch.  You should find a lot of Lyrics (unless you have real uncommon stuff) as KingSparta has ~350,000 lyrics on the site.
4) After you download everything, you can use another plug-in to fix up the lyrics.  Doof has one called Lyrics Editor.  You can automatically clean up the formatting of all of your lyrics.
5) If you want to send the clean lyrics back up to KingSparta's server, you can.  All you have to do is set the option to always Upload.  This will take the lyrics you already have on the server and replace them with the cleaned up lyrics.
6) If you do step 5 - reset the option when you are done - you do not normally want to always upload.  It slows things down.

If I made this too confusing, let me know.  I will try to be more clear.

King, just curious as to something. A lot of the lyrics are typed like you type in most of your posts with every word capitalized. Does this mean these particular ones came from you originally? And again just curious, do you purposely type like that in your posts or do you run something which automatically capitalizes every word?

I used Data Master last night with about 200 songs and it does work much better when there's data in there.  I downloaded some lyrics and for the ones it couldn't find, I manually found most of them and will upload those today.

I was able to select some friends last night and had closed MC when done. I opened MC this morning and noticed that in the Settings tab there was only one friend listed. Did I lose the other friends?

One last question. Did you remove the 50 character limit on lyrics that Lyrics Finder had? Some of the songs that weren't downloaded was because they were instrumentals. I like having Instrumental in the lyrics field and will upload them as that. Just hope they get saved.

No, There Was An Option In Lyrics Finder Once To Change The Case, Some Users Used It Some Did Not. It Looks Better Than "UPPER CASE ON ALL THE WORDS IN THE LYRICS".

I Have A Mental Disorder, That Makes Me Mess With Other Peoples Minds. This Includes But Not Limited To My Typing Habits. The Mental Disorder Stemmed From Taking Incoming Enemy Artillery On My OP When I Was In The Army. All Of The Doctors In All Of The Land Could Not Prescribe A Nuff Meds To Put My Brain Back Together Again. I Yelled Out For Mister Wizard, "Help Me Mister Wizard!, Help Me Mister Wizard!", I Felt A Bit Dizzy For A Few Mins Swirling Around And Around In My Head, But Mister Wizard Was In Syndication And Then Dropped From TV Programming, So He Was Not Able To Help.

Note: "Help Me Mister Wizard!, Help Me Mister Wizard!" Mr. Wizard Would Then Save Tudor At The End Of Each Episode By Chanting "Drizzle Drazzle Drozzle Drome - Time For This One To Come Home!"

Maybe You Should Have Pressed "Apply" Or Exited The Plug-In First Before Closing MC, Because This Is When the Plug-In Actually Saves Any Changes To The Registry.

There Is No Limit Other Than the Fact, That To Upload You Must Have More Than "0" Bytes In Your Data Field To Upload Something.

Please remove that "Hello, hello, there are no files in Playing Now" message. I finished the batch of uploading changes and then cleared my playing now. I'm trying to now do other things without Data Master and that message keeps popping up. I have tried turing background mode off, making sure the Stop Batch button is pressed, etc. but nothing works except Hiding Data Master. I installed 22 just to make sure I had the latest version.

You should take a look at another plug-in - Lyrics Editor from Doof.  You can find recent postings about the plug-in in this section (3rd party plug-in...).

It is a great companion to Data Master.  It can, as an example, change all of your lyrics to Title Case (all words capitalized), Sentence Case (Only 1st word capitalized).  It can do spell checking.  It can fix formatting.
