I just got new "improved" Pat Benatar / Crimes of Passion cd.

They ruined it...  Compare the waveform of the original with the very hot "remaster'.  Notice how they have allowed major clipping to get such a hot recording.  The music is loud, dull and lifeless...  I'll keep the original...

As the public thinks that ipod quality music is the best there ever was, the problem gets worse and worse.  A local audio store here in Denver (Listen Up) has totally sold out... They use to sneer at almost any equipment that was not major high-end.  Now they advertise connectivity options for connecting ipods to the whole house audio systems.

Ipods have their place, but they are NOT hi-fidelity.  (if used with lossy recordings)
