If only Microsoft had the same policy with Vista.
Why can't they just release a "family pack", like Apple, that disables the Activation crap and lets you install it on as many machines as you want (up to say, 5-6 machines) and charge the same as the cost of 4-5 individual copies of Vista?
Why do they have to make it so hard to be honest if you want to actually upgrade and use your hardware components and have a "networked house" like they keep pushing?
It's like they
want us to pirate it. With XP, I happily bought a Volume License 5-pack to avoid the activation nightmare. I rarely have the same motherboard in all my machines for more than 5 months or so, and calling Microsoft every time is just not even an option. Where are my options for Vista? Now, even the Corporate and Ultimate editions are going to require this crap.
What are my options if I want to be able to swap out hardware once per week if I so choose, and not have to spend my life on hold with Microsoft in doing so (oh, and lie while I'm on the phone with them and say something broke, again), and be honest about it??
