TV picture quality
« on: October 15, 2006, 02:46:22 am »

Hi!

I Have just configured the MC TV device and started watching several programs.
The picture quality is pretty poor compared to other TV apps, very big pixels and therefore not nice to watch
Is this the way it is supposed to look in MC12, does anyone else have this?

Yes, I do too.  However, once the TV is paused and time-shift enabled, the resolution seems to improve.  More investigation required...  There are SO many settings to play with, I get very confused.

TV sound is slightly out of sync with video on my system (ATI AIW X1800). Watching TV with the native ATI tools does not exhibit this problem.

I thought I was the only one on that...
and I have no sound on TV start : I have to switch to another channel to have the sound come back. Same thing goes for tv recording (no sound when record starts, Have to switch channels too)

This is for analog TV (Ads Tech instant TV PCI), and goes for 11.* and 12.*

(I don't understand why I never posted these "bugs" here!)
(wait... probably because this kind of post should go on the TV thread   :))

For picture quality, try this:

Options -> Advanced Properties

Double-click "Video Preview Pin ..." and select appropriate Color Space (usually the top one in the list should be good, but experiment with all available)  and Output Size (use largest size that will work for you).
