Hiding Services & Plugins
« on: October 13, 2006, 01:30:46 pm »

It seems to me the Services & Plugins should not be located in the tree.  The tree is generally speaking for the organization and identification of content.  Services seem for the most part to be utilities.  As such they should be in stuck in a menu.  Product services such as Audible are there I assume because they pay you for the space.  I don't use it, I want to delete it.

The Drives and Devices group should be able to be hidden as well.

I also agree with the idea elsewhere in this forum that web url's should be available in the tree via custom items.

I generally like the look of the new tree, I just wish it were more flexible.

Under Tools->Plugin Manager choose the Audible Plugin, then "Hide". You won't see it any more.

sure you can, but then you still have this ugly "Services & Plug-ins" Menu in the tree when it makes more sense in a menu.

While were at it, Podcasts appears to be non-hideable or removable as well.

Why can't we hide what we don't use?
