Anyone else ever noticed this? I think it has been that way all along?

Regular playslits show up in the correct order but smartlists no matter how I have them sorted always seem to be random. I do not have shuffle set on the ipod, to be sure.

Any fixes for this?

hmm, I just sync'd my ipod, and I only have one smartlist that's not sorted randomly, and it's goes across to the ipod in the same order as listed by MC....

maybe relevant, maybe not, but the sort order for this smartlist ([last played]) is specified in the smartlist itself, not the view settings area.
I'll try a test in a bit the other way around.

It is still confusing that what I see on screen in the MC smartlist, is not what I get in the ipod.
