Customize current view – one view for all locations?
« on: October 27, 2006, 06:23:07 pm »

I’m sure I was able to do it. But I cannot find it anymore… can anybody help?

In my Playlist tree I’ve one Playlistgroup for pictures, one for video and one for audio files. Now I want every single Playlist in one of these three groups (and subgroups) to use the same view settings. I can’t find the option...   ?

Thanks for any help!

Hm, does this mean, that no option like this exists? Do I have to customize every playlists' view seperatly?

I could have sworn this was recently asked but I can't find the thread. The option for applying to all was removed and we are left with having to use Presets to save and load our current views. If you want the same view, save it as a Preset, then go to every Playlist you want that view and load the Preset.

Now be careful if you want to update the Preset. It's something I mentioned long ago but nothing became of it. The names for Presets are case sensitive so if you have a Preset called "My Columns" and you update it and then save the Preset as "my columns", you'll then have 2 Presets.

The solution is to use a combobox instead of a text box. When wanting to Save a Preset, it would list the current Preset names in a dropdown list to select from or enter a new Preset name. Simple enough and there are other comboboxes in MC.

:o Oh my gosh! What do I have to do, to get this option back?

Or I have to pay a friend to reconfigure all the views of my 615 playlists??

... and why was this option removed??
