Audible files (aa) no longer displaying art.
« on: October 30, 2006, 10:20:32 pm »

I've been reporting for quite a few builds now that art no longer works on Audible files.  .aa files that used to display art in MC11 no longer do, and in turn the art is no longer transferred to my iPod (I now get the standard MC icon for files that used to display cover art.)  MC12 continues to report that these files have art "inside" the file, but it simply doesn't display.  Does anyone have any feedback on this?  I haven't seen any feedback on this issue in the main build threads, so I thought I might as well create a seperate thread for this to see if anyone might have any ideas on how to fix the issue.

It may seem like a small issue, but given all the updates to thumbnail display etc. recently, it would be nice to once again see art for Audible files.

Thanks,

Larry

I'm seeing this too. I have moved my files. I thought this might be a reason.

It would be nice if MC stripped out the art and put it in the cover art directory. In my options I have "Store in files" turned off.

I actually prefer to keep the art inside the file.  The problem, however, is that it's not showing up at all.

On a related note, why don't you want the art inside the Audible file?  With Audible files, the cover art is typically well LESS than about .05% of the total file size (that's 1/2 of 1/10 of 1 percent.)  With such an TINY amount of additional filesize, which not just let it be part of the file?

Thanks for your feedback,

Larry

Hi Larry,

I mentioned it, not because of file size, but because maybe the consistency would be a good thing. Also, if this were the case, then MC would always show the picture for the file, because it would always be maintaining the link, rather than digging into a quite specialist file format for th e image.

Either way though, if MC can show me my book covers again, then I'll be happy.
