Can't access YADB
« on: November 01, 2006, 07:41:04 pm »

For at least the last 48 hours my MediaCenter 11.1 (build 188) hasn't been able to access YADB either to look up CDs or make submissions.

Anybody else having this problem?

Anybody know any way to dig out any further information on what is happening (other than the generic error dialog that it couldn't access YADB)?

There were some problems starting tuesday afternoon, and fixed wednesday morning.

If you are still having problems, just post the time here (as exact as you can get it) and your IP address if you know it, and any other info that might help me identify you, such as number of tracks.

Still having trouble. Just tried to upload the six tracks from Sonny Sharock's "Ask The Ages" CD at 17:05 today (EDT) and it failed again. The public IP address of my router is 66.93.1.234.

There were no configuration changes and I hadn't installed a new build (or any other software) when this problem began.

Hi,
To piggyback on a related but different issue.
When ripping, MC goes to yadb. If yadb is down, MC ends up
with no valid data. Reasonable. However, it retains the 'bad' info (no data)
everytime the disc is replaced for ripping. How do I 'reset', remove, whatever
you want to call it, the bad data?

TIA

It seems I cannot access YADB to make submissions.
Actually, not strictly true. I am able to submit CD info, of an unknown CD, when no data is available on YADB but I'm unable to submit modified data for a CD.
I receive the submission summary
#files selected for YADB submission.
0 files added to YADB.
#files not added because of file or server errors.

I have router/gateway do I need to forward any ports for MC?

Also I'd also like to stick my hand in the air for fixing the resetting of data when a submission is failed when YADB is inaccessible.

Thanks for reading

Individual track submission does not allow modification (yet, it's on my list of things to do).

Hi John,

is the following possible with YADB.

I have some albums that i ripped a while ago, they are not tagged (for whatever reason), can i grab the CD or "whole album" tag information from YADB without having to re-insert the CD into the drive. ie can i make MC12 beleive that the files i select are the cd and look it up in your database, without having to just look for individual track info.

Hope this makes sense

Cheers

You can't do that... yet, but it should be easy to add with the new algorithm we started using recently.
