Advise on database updating
« on: September 07, 2002, 06:16:35 am »

Here's the rub, I have a huge (approx 10k) database of MP3s which I am constantly "tweeking" on the hard drive (eg moving files around directories, deleting duplicates etc.) and one reason I wanted to use Media J is that I like the "Top Hits" feature which I use to try to track which tracks I'm skipping whilst listening to tracks.

Now, is there any way to "update" or reindex the MJ database to remove "dead links" as I've got several files which appear to be duplicates, but have just been manually moved by myself.

So, how do I reindex and remove dead links? Many thanks in advance....

THanks - that seems to have solved part of the problem.... although it doesn't remove the ones from "removeable media" - I only ever put CDs in to rip them, then they go into "physical" storage library... any plans to implement removal of these in V9?

"removeable media"

can't you go mark them and delete them?
