Changing bitrate conversion settings between sync's

Hi,

Say you have sync'ed a playlist to your handheld. There was no bitrate conversion during the original sync.

Now you increase your number of files to be synced and you discover that you are above capacity.

How do you convert the files already on the handheld? By deleting and then resyncing?
