Immedate stop after song starts
« on: November 27, 2006, 08:46:28 pm »

Just rebooted my system (after a MS update) and suddenly MC doesn't work properly.

When I start a song, MC starts to play for about 1 second and then stops. No sound comes out and playback is halted.
What happened? I searched forums but didnt' see anything. Is this a known bug after the latest MS update or a random error.

Never Heard Of It.

What Was The MS Update For?

Any Error Messages?

You Could Make Sure MC Sound Board Is Setup Correctly Including The MC EQ.

Also In Windows Control Panel

Well the problem seemed to resolve itself. I left the system and went on to other things. About an hour later (so I was told as I wasn't here) the music suddenly started playing. When I got back, I stopped and restarted MC and it works fine now. MC seemed to go into hibernation for a very long time and then sorted itself out.

The MS update was for the usual patch of security updates and IE7. I don't use IE7 and didn't dl it.
No error messages at any time in this process and HW appears to work fine in control panel.

Now that system is working, I am curious as to why it would (sort of) lock up and hibernate for so long and then suddenly decide to play music.
