Has anyone been able to play back an MPEG II file and routed it out of the computer as analog audio & video?  I want to play an mpeg II file and watch it on a TV.  Would a Hollywood Plus or similar card work?  Do you know other ways that work?

If you've got a TV-out on your video card and a half-decent processor (more than about 700MHz), you should be able to decode an MPEG-II file in software. You'll need some decoder filters. They are installed with any DVD software or you can get some free ones here:
