Theater View Lists with No Thumbs
« on: December 01, 2006, 09:47:53 am »

I've been posting this for ages in the build threads but perhaps it's not considered a bug so I'll put it here....

2. NEW: Theater View list-style shows small icons next to the text.

Where there are no thumbs to show, no image is displayed next to the list text at all. For consistency, could the NoThumb.png image be used please - just like everywhere else. This would look a heck of a lot better than showing nothing.

Thanks.

Also, some small bugs I've noticed with the Tview OSK in the new search view:-

1. It's not possible to right-arrow from the backspace button
2. Or down arrow from 7 or 8
3. Or down arrow from the last row of letters to the top and visa-versa (ie, list wrapping as is the case with other lists).

I'm not sure we agree.  The donut hole gray tile isn't lots better since there's already an item background.

We'll get these.

Hi Matt. What does this mean? "donut hole gray tile" ?? What's that?

I guess my point is I can use any "noThumb" image I like if MC would allow it - and it would look cool  ;)

I think he gets it.  I gotta agree with Matt on this one raym...

I'd prefer to have no thumbnail at all as opposed to a "default" one.

Another possiblity would be the "blue notes" icon like the one that appears in the "small icon" column.  This would be like the "small thumbnails" column that shows the blue notes when no art is available.  I'm honestly not sure whether or not this would be better or worse than the current "blank" space, but it was just an idea.

The blue notes (etc) would be okay I suppose.

Has anyone else noticed slowdowns in Theater View since they added the small thumbs?

Well, I just think it looks strange the way it is.  I actually thought it was a bug.

Also, whatever default  image is used is irrelevant coz that can be changed. What's unusual I think about this whole thing is that when no cover-art is available anywhere else in MC (even in Theaterview when showing the large thumbnails view) a default image is shown for this.

The list's look great since the addition of the little thumbs. I just think that the dead space makes the affected lists look as if MC had a problem generating them.
