Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to add a "Open Media File" button in the Theater View at the top level (along with the Audio, Images, Video etc. buttons)? It would be nice if I could also tell what directory it should go to by default.

I've requested this many times in the past. I can't believe it still doesn't exist..... I guess I'm finding I need it less now with MC12's auto import feature but I still think it's one of those things that is really missing from Theater View.

System "File Open" dialogs aren't good for Theater View.

We could re-invent a TV-friendly system, but that's what the library already is: a nice way to get to content. (including browsing by disk location)

The Auto-import tip might help you out.

Well, the funny thing is that the media file that I want to open using "Open Media File" is already part of the library (hosted by a Server on a Server PC in the home network). But, if I play that file from Library it doesn't work. If I play that file (mounted from Server PC via Samba) with "Open Media File", it works. That's why I need the "Open Media File" for a Theater View.

What about other dialogs that appear in theater view then? These currently employ Standard View skinning which look pretty ordinary in Theater View. Any chance these dialog boxes could be skinned to look the same as the current Theater View skin in use?
