Transfer Program MC 11.1 & Libraries to External HD
« on: December 16, 2006, 02:21:58 pm »

Hello,
I still love this program, but am in process of transfering my record collection to mp3's; well, needless to say I will soon run out of space on my internal HD.  I have manually transferred my mp3's over to the external HD as back up, but I know I will soon need it as my primary source for my music files.  Is there any way to easily transfer the MC program and associated files over to my external HD so the program still performs as it does when it accesses my internal HD?  There's got to be an easy way to do this, I have not been able to figure this one out, a little help would be greatly appreciated...KG/Circus Dog

My guess is that the best performance is achieved if you only push the music files out to the remote drive.  Any I/O is going to be slower (maybe not noticeably) when accessing a remote drive.

1) Keep the program on the local hard drive
2) Keep the MC files (Library) on the local hard drive
3) Push the music to an external drive

This is also how I have my system set up.
