[SOLVED] Recreate a Standard Root View Scheme
« on: December 20, 2006, 05:02:46 am »

Hello everybody.

I recently upgraded to MC 12, but my problem is also for MC 11, so I dont really know where to post... Move my topic if necessary...

I have different libraries for my video and music files, so for my music library, I deleted all root view except the audio one.
But now I want to add videos to my music library (video clips).

If I use Edit / Reset All View Schemes By Default..., I lose all my audio childs view schemes...and I have a lot of them...

Is there a way to recreate the standard video root view scheme, keeping my current audio root view scheme?

Thank you for your advices...

  • select playing now in the tree.
  • in the top toolbar, click on 'Edit', then 'Add View Scheme'
  • Create the view scheme like you would any other, giving it a video icon, and in step 4, enter [media type]=video
  • Click the OK button

Job Done.

intersting.
To get the default "Top Line" video entry, with icon, try renaming the view scheme to "Video" instead of "Video Clips". That ought to do it.

Thank You!!

I could not figure out how to create a Root View scheme!  I just kept getting my view schemes added at the top under the Audio button.  I could not for the life of me figure out how to get one at the root and bolded like the other standard view schemes.

Is it the selecting of playing now then going to 'Edit - Add Viw Scheme...' that makes this happen?

You guys should update the help file to discuss creating root item view schemes. It's not very clear...

Thanks for the help and great product!

Yes, it is exactly that. You need to have a "non-library" item selected in the tree, such as Start, Playing Now, Drives and Devices, etc.
