YADB Problems
« on: December 21, 2006, 03:25:09 am »

I have just installed a trial version of MC 11 Imported 1000's of files from a network drive and now doing Yadb lookup it retrieves no info. THese files definately have tag data. What am I doing wrong? Perhaps it does'nt work on a trial version however I am getting no errors.

Are you doing individual track lookup or CD lookup?

Hi,
I am doing individual track or groups of tracks. Not CD lookup, these are already in MP3 format having been ripped some time ago.
Thanks

When you say "these files definitely have tag data", do you mean the files have ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags already in the files?
If so, you don't need individual track lookup.

If not, I'm planning on looking at the individual track lookup soon - I've got at least one idea to improve the hit rate.

Right click on a single track, choose library tools, then Update Library from Tags (if you do Update Tags from Library it'll overwrite any tags in the file).
See if the tags are read and used. If they are, then you are home free.
