Defaults File locations for Burning MP3 CDs
« on: December 22, 2006, 04:29:49 pm »

I can't remember the number of times I've done this.
I've got a long journey a head of me, lot's of packing to do.
and I think, I know I'll make an Mp3 CD for the car!
spend 10 minutes picking albums in album view, right click and send them to the burner.

CD starts burning, I go pack the car.
pick the CD up, pack the computer away.
go out the front door, lock the house.

Jump in the car ready to go, stick the CD in.....
only to realise that the Mp3's will now play in a completley random
order because I forgot to tell MC to create folders for the albums  :(

Of course by then it's to much hassle to burn another one,
so U2 goes around again... and again, and again.
And don't get me wrong U2's good... but it's been in my CD player now
for about 6 months.

Would anyone else agree that MC should default to
Album or Artist/Album for Mp3 CD's (Or at least if you send entire albums to the drive)?
Or possibly a more obvious option which says "create album folders" when you burn the disc.

I would vote for Album/Track# as a default, but multiple options may be better.

I think the problem is how can you guess what the user is trying to do.  What is being burned.  Albums, your favorite songs for an artist, ?.
