Full Screen question

I have a two monitor set-up and wanted to open MC on one monitor and full screen on the other. That works fine but I noticed the back button does not work within the pane. (I'm using a split view if that matters.) Is the back button not supposed to work in Full Screen mode or am I doing something wrong?
