MC 9.0.180 - lost license
« on: December 27, 2006, 07:52:10 am »

I'm in the process of creating a network on my XP machine, but when I change the computer name and workgroup info MC tells me my license has expired.  Why and is there any way I can avoid having to use up a restore to fix this problem?

Thanks

License files are good for 14 days only.

after that you must use a restore

restor page is located here

Yes, I know about the time limitation on the licensing but that was not my question.

Regardless, it strikes me that perhaps I was asking the wrong question.  IRC MC has a limit of 10 retores per year, if that's the case I don't have a problem with using up a restore this close to the end of 2006.

Could someone please confirm the number of restores allowed and if its on an annual basis as opposed to the anniversary of the original purchase.

Thanks

Restores are not based on a calender.

restorees are based on when you use them

if you have 10 restores and use one today, then in 12 months you get that one restore back.

also if you run out of restores, all you need to do is let someone know at JRiver, and they will restore them.

so it is not 10 restores and your out of luck.

Don't worry about the number of restores, if you run out, just post in the forum and JRiver will help you out.. The restore system exists to stop piracy not your enjoyment of MC. Legit MC users will always get the restores they need. After using up the 10 restores, JRiver resets them on a case by case basis.

So, if you do run out, just post a description of what's going on and JRiver will help you out. Additional restores are issued at no charge. Don't forget, each restore key is good for 14 days, so save it to your desktop or somewhere safe.
