How do I stop latest iTunes loading?

I am running the latest iTunes (7?) and I need to leave it installed for the updater.  How do I stop it from loading when the iPod is plugged in?  There used to be an option to turn stop it loading in preferences but I don't see that any more.  Thanks.

Open up iTunes and plug in your iPod.  Go to the same place you normally go to see if your iPod is up to date.  This is in the Summery tab for the device.

At the bottom of the summary tab are the options you are looking for. 

Turn off the check box for: open iTunes when this iPod is connected
Turn on the check box: manually manage music and videos.
