Glynnor,
I bought the optional model for the Uneed X11 HTPC case from PCAlchemy. Got the case a few years ago and the LCD very recently. X64 drivers were not working at first; I had to re0install the IRtrans driver on every reboot. This VFD sits behind a glass window in the X11, and it uses a USB header on the MB.
It works now with Girder on x64. LCDsmartie is the app I use to do just about antying on the display.
I can upload the plugin for LCDsmartie although I think someone posted it here on the forum.
I currently have 5 or 6 screens. The can scroll, fade, or hop into view. I have CPU type/speed and processor usage screen (which I can sticky if I need to monitor that for a while in particular). I have downstream and upstream net traffic, MC plugin has a bunch of screen since I have top line show Genre, next line show Style. Then Artist/Album, Name/Duration, etc.
Download LCDsmarite and it has a zillion presets for Winamp, Email, System (temps, mem, etc.) and you can run this app w/o an LCD. It mimics an LCD on your monitor so you can tweak it, if need be, then minimize. Once you add the VFD, it will send it all to the VFD.
