royale skin anyone
« on: January 23, 2007, 12:55:15 am »

Sorry for two continuous posts guys. Any plans of a Royale skin? I'm still not kinda ready to make the tectonic shift to Vista. I've been hunting for a royale skin for a looooong time now. the ones thats in the skins section doesn't even come close. How about even incorporating a non skin mode? in which the player users pretty much all the default OS controls. It'd be light on the system too.

Actually MC used to do that, but around 9.1 or 10 they changed the skinning engine. As far as I recall the current way of doing it is more flexible and less system intense than when MC used the Windows for drawing.
Back in the days the ‘Windows skin’ was truly ugly, so you wouldn’t want to use it anyway. . .

On my system MC uses less system resources than Firefox, Thunderbird and explorer (minimized and maximized). It used to use about 30K of memory. It is down to 13K when maximized.
