Help On Help
« on: January 27, 2007, 10:05:11 am »

Hi. Can anybody help please?

I can not get the highlighted links (Java) to work in the help pages. I've tried my other p.c. programmes and they work okay. Is it a bug? I am using Windows XP

Thanks in anticipation.

Hello. My apologies. I mean those in the Help Application in the Media Jukebox 8. For example: When I click on 'Getting Started' there is an underlined link 'How to organize media files'. When I click nothing happens. Likewise the check boxes on other pages don't seem to work. However the directional arrows do!

Thanks for your assistance.

No Clue, other than If they are links to places on the internet they may have changed since Media Jukebox 8 Was Made Back 4-5 Years Ago, And I Have Not Used It Since.

There Are Security Programs And Browser Settings That Sometimes Effect Java Links. You Should Check Out Tools > Internet Options > Securities Tab And The Advanced Tab. Sometimes You Will See That Java Has Been Disabled And Or The Security Is Set Higher Than Maybe It Should Be For Normal Operation Of The Browser.

Media Center 12 Is The Newest Jukebox Program From JRiver And It Works Allot Better (I Feel). If You Have Not Tried It Out You Should Try It Since It Does Have A 30 Day Free Trial.

Hi. I downloaded MC 12 (Very Nice) but it has one major disadvantage that Juke Box excels at - namely in Juke Box you can export in HTML as well as other file formats. MC 12 only allows for .XML. Given that I put all my music on Excel sheets I can't use .XML

There's even a export plug-in for Windows that exports in HTML.
Back to the links. They are not links to external web pages. They are shortcut links within the help section

As for file information sharing. Winamp is the same. It just produces junk files that normal office appliations don't recognise.

Wrong.

MC12 allows for export as html And Other Formats

Select A PlayList

File > Export Playlist

Then Select A Format

HTML
MPL
M3U
ASCII

It Also Allows For Export As XML

File > Library > Export As XML

Not Sure Why Export Does Not Include All Formats On One Place, I Think It Should...

You are very patient and helpful. Thanks, I'll give it another try.

I still think Jukebox is superb. Easy to use, a clean interface and zillions times better than bloated Media Player.

One thing I like is you can slip in a cd and catalogue the contents without having to rip the contents.

Recently (If I Remember Correctly) They Removed Library Upgrade Paths From MJ8 To Media Center 12

This May Mean Something For The Future Like

MJ8 May Not Be Sold, And Or No Discount Will Be Avail For Users To Take Advantage Of.

I Am However Not Sure What It May Mean...

Hi again.

Does that mean it won't be possible to purchase a licence for JukeBox?

I'm just running MC 12 and have found a glitch. I have inserted three c.d.'s and clicked on import but it shows no files!? I've even checked all the audio formats. It says artist unknown? Queen - oh really? :-)

I'll get somewhere yet.

MJ8 doesnt need any separate code to run. You're already licensed for life.
