DirectX Plugin Support
« on: August 26, 2002, 06:46:59 pm »

Hi,

I really like Media Jukebox and have used it for a couple of years now.  I continue to use 7.2 since it runs the Adaptx plugin that provides support for DirectX plugins.  The 8.x versions of Media Jukebox seem to have problem with Adaptx.

Are there plans to provide native support for DirectX plugins in the future?

Thanks,
Lynn

Hi,

I have a dedicated music server with APE files from my CD collection digitially linked to my hifi.   I use a collection of DirectX programs called Waves which allow me to tailor the sound.  You can widen the soundstage, make the system sound more like tube amp, equalize the music with a parametric equalizer, etc..  The Waves package is meant for pro-audio mastering, so the sound is high quality.

Sigh, to use it with Mediajukebox I have to use a Winamp plugin called Adaptx which as I mentioned in my first post only works with 7.2.

With so may great DirectX tools out there, it is a shame that we cant use them in 8.x.

Regards,
Lynn

Yes, there's a pretty good chance that Media Jukebox will natively support DirectX DSP plugins in the future...

JimH - I will remain aloof from this!

I am finally on vacation as of close of business tomorrow, and I expect v9 will be well into the beta process when I return to the digital world on 9/16.

I am, however, looking forward to the beta process again - must say something about me, but I'm not sure what...

Where shall we send the beta?  Did you tell your wife you're taking a laptop?

Have a great trip!

Native directx support in Mediajukebox?  There is a god after all!  Now if he will only endow me with enough patience to make waiting easier.

Thanks for a great product Jim & Matt.

Cheers!
