adding plugins
« on: April 22, 2007, 12:26:01 am »

I've got a trial version of Media Center and can't figure out how to add a plugin for Track Info (CSS Dream).

Went to Tools > Plug-in mgr > Download plug-ins -- clicked 'download' -- file ran -- clicked 'yes' to install component -- 'package was installed correctly'

Went to Add plug in and ... CSS folder has no .dll.

What am I missing?

It is not a dll based plugin that can be configured with the Plugin Manager.

The installer just downloads a zip package and unzips the included files to the MC program path\Visualizations\Track Info\CSS Dream\ folder. If the mjp installer doesn't work for some reason (could it be a firewall problem?) you can do the same manually. The zip file is available here: http://accessories.musicex.com/mediacenter/mc_data/trackinfos/css_dream.zip

Edit

Have you actually checked that the visualization doesn't already work? Play an audio file, right-click the display window in Playing Now and select Set Display > Track Info > ...

Alex,
Many thanks.  Was working all the time ... just didn't know how to do it.  Spose this means I gotta to read the instructions  :)
