Slower MP101
« on: April 30, 2007, 10:09:50 am »

I'm not sure what changed but for the past month or two, my MP101's have been slower for browsing.  I looked at the MC log and it continually says Cannot autodetect device.  I remember browsing being almost instantaneous before so I'm not sure what happened.

Choose "Mp101" instead of autodetect.

lol.  I'd say I can't because of my DSM-320 but is there really any benefit?!  I completely understand that!

As a small improvement (if it isn't too much trouble): would there be a way to auto detect and more appropriately handle that detection...basically, the first issue is: Can MC detect it's a MP101?  If not, then never mind.  But if it knows, then couldn't it optimize it's traffic?

No biggie.  I'll change it and it won't matter cause I don't really use my DSM 320.

We can't autodetect the MP101 - it provides no identifying info in the headers...

Too bad other manufacturers can't get decent compatibility going.  All they care about is getting their products "kind of" working.  At least Apple makes attempts to be standards compliant, such as adding podcast support, xml feeds to various things, ical feeds, etc.
