MC10 problem
« on: May 14, 2007, 06:46:56 am »

HI all, I don't see a forum for MC10, so I will post the problem here. MC keeps craching, since I increased my files in the library to over 4000, is there a limit? The size of the library is over 25GB.

Thanks for any help in this regard

MC10 should handle 100,000 files.

Can you provide more details?

Not sure what else you need to know, the program freezes after a short while of usage, I have to go to the task manager to shut it down completely, all I am doing is playing music, or importing my latest files sometimes.

ananta108 4,000 is rather small compared to some users around here and i know i had over 100,000 in MC10.

once you get to a larger size you may need more CPU power and Memory.

MC12 does handle larger library's better however.

It would be helpfull if you gave us more information, post your system info (MC Help>System Info) and any other info like what's new on your computer, is anything running in the background.

The solution may be as simple as re-installing MC, (back up your Library first). The setup file is here, (scroll down): http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=40347.0 If you do re-install, you'll also have to do a restore (from the internet).

I have close to 500 gigs of music and another 150 gigs of video and MC is running as fast as always, (faster actually, there have been many speed improvements since MC10.
