Hi,

Media Center, tv-tuner, mp3, joost, mlb-tv, youtube - I have tons of different audio source and all of them at different volume levels.

Is there a way I can globally normalize all sound outputs. Could this be done by the sound-card-driver or some other software?

I think not all sound outputs can be normalize now,

You could try looking for a "limiter" or "compressor". These will get you an output volume level that is consistent, but you WILL sacrifice the dynamics of your music or video, especially with a compressor. If the volume level is very important to you though, it's probably worth trying something free to see if the "dynamic squash" is acceptable to you (for me it would not be, but you have a different set of ears  ). I'm not sure what sort of limiters/compressors are available that will work directly with your sound card, but if you get at it with google you should find something.

There is also the Direct-X host plugin - you can these use the FFDshow or similar audio processor to do the job.
