ChartData problem
« on: June 24, 2007, 10:56:47 am »

Using ver .30

If there is data in the remote ChartData field, program works fine. If not, four names appear in Remote Data List, three containing lyrics and the other, Jazz Vocal. If I run in batch mode, the lyrics to Paul Weller's Sunflowers fills the ChartData field if there is no chart data. So, at the moment I can only do this manually to check whether ChartData will get actual chart data or Sunflower lyrics.

All my settings are at default and I only have ChartData selected in settings.

Thanks.

There's no particular artist, song or album. What seems to be happening is that any track that didn't chart (eg an album track) and therefore has no chart data to download defaults to four names in the Remote Data List and downloads that. It just happens that the first name in the list contains the lyrics to Sunflowers. If the track is a single that charted, the chart data is entered.

What happened was I put all my library in Playing Now, selected just ChartData and hit Batch. I watched it run for about 30 secs, noticing the word Sunflowers a lot and then stopped the batch. The first dozen or so tracks were all album tracks by Queen, Obituary, Celtic Frost, Crowbar and all contained the lyrics to Sunflowers in the ChartData field. The next track was (Dont' Fear) The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult and this contained the correct chart data. This was followed by more album tracks that contained lyrics in ChartData until Satisfaction by the Stones is reached and contains the correct chart data.

Do you see what I'm getting at?

Cheers.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing here.

I'm trying to download ChartData via DataMaster. I've just loaded my library into Playing Now and loaded DataMaster. I've checked only ChartData in Settings. The current file in DataMaster is '39 by Queen. In Current Field Name, ChartData is highlighted. In Remote Data is the lyrics to Sunflowers - this is not chart data. I move to Next File, 'Til Death by Obituary - same lyrics in Remote Data that don't belong in ChartData. I click Next File six times with each file being an ALBUM track and wanting to stick Sunflower lyrics in my ChartData field. I click the next file and it's (Don't Fear) The Reaper, a SINGLE that charted and in remote data is the the info on when it charted.

What this means is if I hit batch under these circumstances I end up with a library where all my album tracks' ChartData field will contain the lyrics to Sunflowers and only the singles that charted will have stuff like Charted: 012 In Year: 1976 On Chart: Top Billboard.

I hope this explains it better.

Send Me A E-Mail At SpartaSoft@nc.rr.com

I want You To Tell me Your Ip Address, And Time Per EST You Access Using The Program.

Only Have ChartData Selected In The Field List

I Will Then Track It, thru my FTP Log.

It Would Be Best To Select A Few Files Your Having Problems With.

Also Send Me A Copy Of Your Events List (Cut And Paste)

If You Do Not Do This I Can't Find The Problem.

Should Be Fixed

When The Drive Was Corrupt, The Plug-in Duped Data In The root Folder The Plug-In Thought It Found Something. I Deleted The 4 Files That Were There, So It Should Work Now.

The Log File Helped Point To The Problem.

I Also Took Steps From This Happening Again by not allowing Uploads To The Root Folder (Where They Should Not Be In The First Place).
