Ideal system for MC 12
« on: June 24, 2007, 01:38:10 pm »

If money is of no concern what would be the ideal configuration for a system to use MC12 to play music, have slide shows of your pictures and streamed video?
What processor? how much RAM? what video card with how much video memory? what drives with what capacity?
I have a 2.4 GHz P4, overclocked to 3 GHz, with a 128 MB GeForce video card and IDE drives; the system stalls when I am having a slide show (pictures around 2MB) and playing MP3s.
Would the dual core processors be better for this?
Actually does MC12 run on the dual processor machines?
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

MC 12 runs on my Intel and AMD PCs.

Try increasing the buffer size for your audio device.

Where can I do this? You do not mean the buffer size in MC options??

Yes, Tools/Options/Playback - Output Mode Settings.

There is a different parameter that controls the amount of memory MC 12 uses to buffer data read from audio files on a hard drive.

See this thread:

Look for a post by Matt explaining the Secondary Buffer parmameter.  And ignore the babble about playing music files from memory.
