I've always found that if it plays in WMP, it will play in MC. Have you tried installing a codec pack like K-Lite?
No, but I'm willing to try anything.
Today I was further discouraged to find that it's actually not just the MPG's I capture from satellite, but rather pretty much ANY MPG files. Strange because it plays DVD's perfectly....but from the options pages, it would appear that MC is not going to ever treat a DVD in the same way as an MPG. To pain me even more, I got my second install of MC up today on the other PC, and although I never use that PC to play videos, I tried one out just to see, and sure enough it worked fine over there
Clearly this PC is able to play MPG's.....I currently use Cyberlink PowerDVD to play MPG's most of the time....and I always keep VLC installed on this box, since it's essentially a swiss army knife for video (it plays EVERYTHING).....but again, if I could just get MC to play my MPG's, I could get all my usual needs tended to from within one program.
So....guess it's time to find this K-Lite pack and cross my fingers. I'll certainly be back to report my results....
