Well, This Will Be Fixed When I Get The MJ Plugin Finished, Since Using MJ To Do All The Taging Work.
>> Also, what other tags show this level of incompatibility?
I Posted That In The Other Thread, But They Are Custom1-3, Rating, Album Artist And Replay Gain.
The Thing Is MJ Keeps All This Data In The Database So If You Do A Update All Fields Then Pull All The Files Back up Into Properties And Do A Save "Update All Files" All the Orginal Tags To Include The Replay Gain And Custome1-3 etc... Will Be Saved Back To The Mp3's.
Yesterday Matt Said That they Were Id3v2 Tags Well I Guess The Answer To That Is Yes And No. MJ Is Using A J River Tag "MJMD" Not An Offical Id3v2 Tag But It Would Work Up To The Point Of Compatability With Other Taging Programs That Will Also Wipe Out That Data If It Was Not Looking For It, And It Also Keeps This MJ Extended Tag Info in That Tag.
It Is Kind Of Like The MusicMatch Tags Someone Reported MJ Wiping Out, If You Do Not Look For It And Then Resave It When You Re-write The MP3 It Will Be Lost (The Latest version Of MJ Fixed That Problem BTW).
But Like I Said, All That Should Be Corrected Soon When There Is A Plug-In (Fingers Crossed). There May Be One Problem And That Is Selecting Files To Dump into The File List (Files To Lookup). But Matt Said They Think They Can Make Something Happen In MJ9 To Allow Users To Select The Files they Want To Send To A Plug-In.
By The way The Tools I Use To Read The ID3v2 And Save It Will Not See The MJ Tags (I Tried). I Think The Tools I Use Only Allow The Offical Id3v2 Tags. If It Would Have Looked And Saved Tag "MJMD" I Could Fix This In This Stand Alone Version.
