rio 500 plugin
« on: August 19, 2002, 02:46:15 pm »

scenario fresh system install, and new 348 install:
1. format the Rio
2. close MJB
3. run MJB again
4. choose some mpc files from artist/album
5. select the mpc`s and click send to -> Rio 500
6. click the cd,dvd and handheld, and click on the rio icon
7. KA BOOM MJB dies.
tried it for three times.

I finally got around this bug by running MJB then, clicking the Rio icon, and only now choose the files.
But then, when I tell MJB to force convert the files to MP3 VBR, it claims that the player doesn't support it. Da?
Well after going into the plugin manager and clickin mp3 vbr in the encoder menu, MJB asked to download it and install of the web. so I guess the first assessment about the Rio not being able to play mp3 vbr was wrong...

Nivw,

I cannot duplicate these problems. I installed MJ 348 on a clean XP. Downloaded the Rio 500 Plugin. Connected the Rio 500 and pointed it to install the drivers from the System 32 directory which is where the MJ compatible drivers are installed.

After this, I can convert to VBR and upload files to the Rio without any problems.  If I try to send an mpc file, MJ reports to me that the Rio does not support mpc. If I take the same mpc file and then turn on the feature to force the file conversion everything works as expected.

On your fresh system install, did you install any other software that accesses your Rio?
