podcast file name - how not to change?
« on: August 07, 2007, 04:36:03 pm »

Is there a way to configure podcast options such that the file name is not modified from that used by the publisher?

I have fooled around with the options including setting the filename default to blank but can't find a way to not modify the file name.

No, there isn't. The problem is that sometimes the "filename" portion of the URL is the name of a script, not an actual filename. The filename should also be unique.

Why do you want the actual filename?

Thanks for responding.

Sometimes publishers put a lot of thought into the structure of their file names. There a few podcasts that I archive permanently and would like to use their well thought out file names.

It's no big deal, I am overall very pleased with MC's support of podcasts.
