Manual Registration
« on: August 19, 2002, 05:37:28 am »

Hi Gang

I used Netscape, paid via credit card last night and never did get a screen that gave me the opportunity to 'install' the key.

I did receive the key via email and I do remember getting a error message in Netscape.

Is there a way to install the key code manually into the program? or do I have to go through the motions again in Explorer?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Glenn

Hi

Thank you for the reply.

I don't know if the file downloaded? Where should I look? How would I know?

Thank you, Glenn

if you did not right click on the link and use "Save As" then you did not download it.

the downloaded registration is good for 14 days then will expire (thats why you get 6 restores)

see the MJ8 Faq for more info.

Also you can yell for "gateley" i think he takes care of this area for J River.

Well, I did not get the opportunity to save the file and I did not right click.

I guess I will use up my second attempt and I'll try it with explorer.

I think it might be better to have the registration available so that one can maunally type in the code if need be. Just my  $0.02 worth.

Thanks though, Glenn

P.S.

Boy, maybe I just logged in at the right time, but the responses sure are quick here! Nice! Much appreciated.

I tried with netscape 6, and got reasonable behavior (it didn't know how to execute the install key, so I just saved it instead). Are you using an older netscape (or newer)?

gateley

Thanks for piping in. I'm using Netscape 4.7 . I tried 6 a while back, but found it very slow. I use Netscape because I have Netscape mail.

I do have Explorer as well.

The easiest thing to do is to do a restore using IE (https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore.cgi). Drop me an email when you are done and I'll clear the restore counter.

I don't know when I'll get to checking on 4.7, but I'll add it to my list.
