bi-directional sync of ratings?
« on: August 17, 2007, 09:23:09 pm »

Does anyone know of a way to do a bi-directional sync of ratings between MC and itunes?  Basically, I want to use MC for my home - thru the MusicLobby front end - and use itunes to manage my ipod.

I've struggled with trying to use MC with my iPod and the integration just isn't seamless yet.  the problem is that I want to be able to rate song on my iPod AND in MC without having to do it twice.

MC (at least version 12) allows you to rate music either on the iPod or in MC itself. Every sync, both sides are mutually updated. Same is true for number of plays, etc...

Yes, I am looking for a way to push/pull that to/from iTunes though...

Hi, I'm not sure why you would want iTunes to manage your iPod. I use MC to manage mine and I find it great. But I have to admit, I only use iTunes to upgrade the firmware on my iPod. If it wasn't for that, it probably would not be installed on my machine.

But I'm interested... What does iTunes do better than MC in your scenario?

I haven't been able to get video (podcasts or other) to work - I admit that I've not tried really hard but I shouldn't have to, the duplicate Podcast issue is still there, etc.

Maybe in a bit when the integration gets a little better I'll try again...

If you'll take a look at the history of each build thread recently, you'll find that the duplicate problem was fixed.

My appologies if someone thought the duplicate podcast issue was resolved, its not.  I have double podcasts with 12.0.308
