I just installed MJ8 on a brand new box with a Plextor 16 IDE CDR/RW drive.  Win XPpro.  The drive is not new, but was working perfectly when I took it out of my desktop box.

When MJ fails to rip a track, it completely bogs down, then fails when I tell it to go ahead and rip the next track - and then I find out that the CD drive has disappeared from the system!

I have to reboot the computer, and then things work fine until the next failed track.

Is this Normal???  I can't believe it should be.  Has anyone else experienced this?  What can I do to stop it?

It was new "Box" and it only had a 16x? I don't think they sell 16x anymore.

someone else reported a problem like this not sure if it was a Plextor 16 IDE CDR/RW drive or not.
