Handheld sync / conversion - bug? and a suggestion...
« on: August 31, 2007, 10:43:09 am »

Hi,

I have recelty got an iRiver Clix 2... fab device... really recommend it.

anyway, I think their codec is not the best for Ogg (it doesn't like some of them that have been created by MC at high bit rate, so now I am transcoding to MP3, if I setoff a sync but after setting off the sync I delete some files from the queue, the system seems to transcode them and move them anyway.

Oh, I think a good feature would be a recode feature where you can specify a max bitrate for a handheld and the system transcodes/recodes to file if it is above this, that way you can have files in a higher bit rate and convert to a lower format (using the same algorythm - so hopefully losing less detail).

Anyone else seen this, using 12.0.301

Thanks
Rich
