Upside down thumbnails
« on: July 03, 2007, 03:12:44 pm »

Another odd little bug, purely cosmetic but irritating all the same.
Some thumbnails appear to be generating upside-down. I can't see anything odd with the files themselves, & MC plays them the right way up, so seems to be solely an issue with the process used to grab thumbnails.

Thats what Gspot has to say on one problem file, another I have is using DivX3 low motion, so its not AFAIK a codec specific problem.

Thoughts/ similar experiences?

Just to close the loop, fixed in build 12.0.279
Dunno why it was doing it in the first place, & nothing in the changelog to suggest it might have been fixed, but still :)

Just installed 12.0.329.  Several of my divx encoded video thumbnails are upside down.  Non-divx .avi and .mpg thumbnails are fine. All files play with no problem.  Appreciate any help.  Glenn

Sorry, several months on & still no clue  ;)
I didn't change anything which might have affected this, the issue just vanished with the new build & it hasn't reappeared.

I can only really suggest updating your codec versions if applicable, but I suspect thats not going to be much help.

Just realized it was entirely my fault. I was setting up the Media Center via a remote desktop connection.  (at work, but not really...) I deinstalled/reinstalled and re-imported the files and the thumbnails were fine.  I knew you can't do video through a rdc, but didn't realize it would cause the problem with the thumbnails.  Lesson learned. Thanks for your quick response.  Glenn
