runaway album covers
« on: October 06, 2007, 09:46:38 am »

Hi..

I've been experiencing this problem for some time now where certain album covers show up across hundreds of files with no apparent order.  This was limited to an album cover or 2 but now is doing for several album covers.  I've tried deleting certain files manually but there must be an easier way.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Can anyone recommend the best to manage/update album covers?

thank you!

In the FAQ here (see my signature) there is info on cover art.

It's probably because a single folder contains a folder.jpg file that is getting used for all tracks in that folder.

thanks.

I checked and the folder and there is no image jpg file there.  I also checked your FAQ and was a little complicated.

My question what is the best practice to save album covers.  Where are they stored now and if I copy one from the web, where should I store that so this runaway problems doesn't occur.

thanks,

The folder.jpg file may be hidden.  It's created by Windows.  Try changing settings in Explorer.  Try a google search if you need more information.

Take a look at user Alex B's posts on cover art, as a starting point.

Sorry, i've no luck finding where the cover is stored.  Also not sure where to find alex b posts.

I've decided to delete all cover art and start from scratch.

Can you possibly recommend a service to auto add cover art.

And would still appreciate best practices on storing cover art.

thank you.

im having pretty good success with a program called "Album Art Cover Downloader"   gets most my covers cept for the rare ones. not the greatest quality, but 300x300 or better in most cases. some rare ones maybe only 200x200.

good luck!
