Inconsistent .wav playback / recognition
« on: August 15, 2002, 12:06:11 pm »

Am using MJ 8.0.336 and it will not play or import .wav files created by Audio Studio 7 by Magix; program just locks up.  Guess what, winamp plays them just fine. Sometimes MJ will recognize them if I copy them to another directory.

BTW the .wav files exported from Audio Studio 7 are NOT compressed and NOT mono (these are the issues sited by others).

Yes I've had the same problem.

MJ8 won't recognize /wav files creted by mj8. I ripped one song as a wav file with MJ8 and then deleted it from the library but not from the harddrive. I ran a search (Tools/Import Media) and it would not pick it up. I then converted that to an mp3 file , again deleetd it from the library and ran a search again. Both files were still in the harddrive. It picked up the mp3 file but not the wav file.

Is this a bug?

I noticed that when you are at the menu where you can pick what formats to be imported the wav files appear as "wav, with the little " in front of it. But the other file types show up only as mp3, or whatvere, without any " in front.
