Shell integration after upgrade
« on: November 14, 2007, 07:26:21 pm »

Something I've noticed in the past several upgrades is that I lose shell integration after installing a new version on top of an existing version. This only persists until a reboot. It is not a big deal as I can get it back but I don't remember it always being that way. Enable Shell Integration remains checked in the options but the new install seems to disable it until a reboot. Is is supposed to do that?

There's no way to tell Windows to unload shell extensions.

So if they change with a build, the old extensions turn themselves off until a reboot when they can be replaced by the new extensions.
